Welcome to the website of the UK's premier single handed racing dinghy. Fast, dynamic, energetic and brilliant - Phantom. Get one or it will haunt you forever!

Nine Phantoms entered for the first Scottish Nationals at ELYC on the 2nd and 3rd of June, the furthest south from Island Barn SC. and the furthest North from Findhorn on the Moray Firth.Saturday started sunny but cool with a fresh 12 mph Easterly wind,Donald Maclean was quick to notice the port bias line and was soon off to a good lead but was eventually passed by James Dawson who went on to win the first race.Race two saw a new leader in Jimmy Sandison followed by D.Maclean and J.Dawson.Race 3 was the same trio with D.Maclean the final winner,so on Saturday night there was only one point separating these three.Sunday dawned bringing a stronger North easterly wind and bigger seas, unfortunately Donald was unable to sail and a few others thought it unwise to venture forth leaving only five to battle on.With slightly smaller courses but much bigger waves and a stronger wind Saturdays tired legs were tested to the limit.Race four was won by J Sandison followed by Andrew Dawson and Michael Alexander.Race five saw James Dawson in the lead until a spectacular cartwheel capsize of the top of a wave let J.Sandison through to take the finish line. The final race James Dawson had fully recovered and went on to win followed by J.Sandison.

Many thanks to North Sails for their sponsorship and all the team at ELYC for such a great event.

The overall results were

1.Jimmy Sandison ELYC.

2.James Dawson RYA

3.Michael Alexander ELYC.
