Plastic boat wanted..
« on: April 16, 2007, 08:34:12 PM »

Can't post as a wanted ad as not a member, no point in being a member until have boat so here goes...

Wanted, Plastic Boat, 1100+ with alll the gear, carbon rig, covers combi etc. Preferrably closish to m25.

07957 144997.

Surely one of the keensters will be upgrading to a Ovi built boat in the near future. I don't want anything with wood on it as I have no idea what to do with a varnish tin.

please don't make my buy a rooster 8.1. laser as I'm not sure my knees will ever forgive me

thanks..

hmm ok so now got the boat and it's a kiss of death...

everytime I've wanted to take it sailing its been either 0 knots or 30 knots. I bailed on the weekend (up east) at the thought of taking the boat out for the first time in the breeze.

Still made a nice foil bag out of a carpet off cut however...

phantoms are quality boats but i have found them to be a handful when breezy, i had to wait a month at first to sail mine, even took it to haversham but it was so windy there i could blow the head off your beer.

Woo hoo! went for a sail tonight, about 8-12 knots, pursuit race at club - good fun.. tricky slotting past some of the RS200s however..so more practice needed at getting agressive at marks..

ripped my knees a couple of times - does everyone sail with kneepads or are there other solutions..booms a bit low too..reminded me of the laster stoop when tacking...

Most of us wear three quarter length Hiking pads. These cover the knees, Magic Marine are my preference as the knee protection is great.

Best investment you will make in my opinion
