I will be there but am ashamed to admit for the first time I was dictated to by the forecast.

Hi All
Looking exciting Saturday, ok Sunday.
Dear Chris
As your coming I will remove any excess halyard, extra tape on the burgee anything else I can think off to avoid mast knitting.
Not recomended in waves.

Gordon,

I'm afraid that I shall be taking greater precautions and keeping the boat in Burnham!

Chris.

Chris
shame you are not coming but with the forecast I am not suprised, possibly to windy Saturday and not enough Sunday.
The weather is not playing ball this year we have lost loads of club racing.

Thanks to all at Shoreham. It was good to see you all and sail on the lumpy stuff.

Hi John
I was told by Gareth, Steve Popple was doing it so did not even take a set of results away, partly due to my rubbish sailing during the day.
Saturday was blowing F5/6 and big seas when we all arrived so the RO Peter delayed the start for the tide to change and as the forecast said drop.
But it just blew up to top end of 6 and stayed for the rest of the day.
Sunday early start 10.30 on the course looked really light and fluky ashore but once we all got out the harbour F2 southerly.
1 st race started Steve leads round the windward mark followed by Matt and the rest of us. On one beat it all began to change and by the end was blowing off shore.
Matt won Steve second Ivan 5th Me 6th  Gareth and Chris somewhere in the middle.
Lots of big shifts and not very big waves for the rest of the day.
Matt won generally having to catch Steve downwind after the first leg. Just the conditions where lighter people go by athletic types like Mr Popple and myself on the reaches.
A good weekend (apart from the very expensive clutch issue with my car on the way home)and a few decisions were made about what the south east sea sailors will do next year.
Cheers
Gordon
Hope Steve does not mind me
