Lyme Regis
« on: June 17, 2014, 02:01:21 PM »

I know this is a little way off but with this event being in the middle of summer holidays I thought I should try to sort some sort of roof over my head. Is there camping allowed at the club?

Thanks

Rich

I did this a few years ago - brilliant venue - even the family loved it.
Sadly no campsite by or near the club. There is one a short drive up the road.

Also a fab hotel a few minutes walk from the club - they had apartments that were great - The Bay Hotel.

Worth trying if you can get a few to share ?

The club was really really friendly and beach side restaurants and bars were also great.

Have fun

Thanks Rich. Bay hotel booked up. Many places are now. Booked up a B&B 10 mins walk away. £45 a night can't go wrong (I hope). If anyone else needs a place to stay send me a message I let you know where I am staying.

Are you out tomorrow night Rich?

Edit - Gordon let me know if you get booked in.

there is hedgehog corner. It is just by the junction off of the A35 to towards lyme. Closer is in Uplyme and called Hook Farm - address http://www.hookfarm-uplyme.co.uk/ or just stick in camping at Lyme Regis

I looked at Hook Farm but a bit too far out for me. I think is was around £50 for two nights. I have booked in at http://www.lucernelyme.co.uk apparently about 10 mins walk from the club.

Jeremy - received this email today from LR SC:
"The NOR should be on the website by the end of the weekend, basically the format is three races on Sat, with two on Sunday, one of which is a handicap race.
Provided there are 6 entries we will offer a class start, if not you will slot into the relevant handicap fleet.
The club will be open in the early evening on Friday normally up until 8 - 9pm and you can drop you boat off at the top of the slipway in front of the club.
Sailing instructions will be available at registration.
Best Regards
Tim Parsons"

I also believe there is a BBQ on Saturday night too.

NOR now on the sailing clubs web site. 3 races on Saturday and two on Sunday. Forecast looks good for Saturday, mostly dry but with a possible lull on Sunday morning. Looking forward to stretching my sea legs!

Regret having to drop out.   Plans all went astray and Hook Farm not very helpful so have to cancel visit on this occasion   :(
