Rollesby launched their summer with the Phantom Chutney Challenge Open event.
Given the wind the temptation to say that the fleet ghosted their way round is irresistible, and perhaps not that inaccurate.
Certainly Race Officer Jon Sallis faced a challenge setting the first leg across the broad, but the 15-strong fleet proved co-operative and let the conditions sort out the finishing order rather than press unduly for the initial advantage.
In a close series James Jarvey (HBSC) dominated the morning, winning both races with visitors Mark Weston (West Riding SC) and John Wayling (Northampton SC), along with James Case, challenging hard in races, which saw them in close proximity and produced considerable place changing in the fickle breeze.
The second race saw Rollesby members Ian Ayres and Darren Pike take an early lead, only to be caught by the rest of the fleet who passed their wind hole without stopping.
Case threw the series wide open by winning the third race and then Weston followed suit in the final race prompting some intensive checking to confirm that Jarvey emerged winner from Weston, with Wayling third.
