Bartley Open Meeting 14th October

Unfortunately we only got a couple of visitors to add to the 4 home boats for the event. I guess the forecast put some people off, thanks to the two Simon's for making the effort.
Weather was 6mph as forecast to begin with, but faded though the day

Race 1, Simon Childs disappeared out in front leaving Simon Hoult (new from his Finn) Jeremy Shinton and Keith Bond to battle it out. Hoult found out that the front of a Phantom has a lot of string and got caught up in it during a gybe and ended up swimming. Shinton came 2nd, Bond 3rd.

Race 2, Much the same happened with Childs doing another horizon job, this time Bond 2nd  and Shinton 3rd

Race3 , This time Bond made the windward mark 1st and managed to hang onto a  slim lead at the finish, Childs 2nd and Shinton 3rd.

Final positions were

Simon Hoult 11 points
Steve Hatley 12 points
