Hunts SC Open
« on: March 19, 2007, 03:17:18 PM »

All,

Hunts Sailing Club are running a Combined Open for both Phantoms and Solutions on Saturday 14th April at the club St. Ives, Cambridge.

The aim is for a race brief at 1040 with the first race starting at 1100, lunch and then two back to back in the afternoon. Separate starts for each fleet. We may (subject to Race Officer) consider four races running two back to back before and after lunch to provide more of a competition.

If any further details are required then e-mail:  phantom@huntssc.org.uk   and I'll get back to you.

Hi

Are we having 3 or 4 races?  The two previous events have been 4.  If its only 3, will we get a discard?

How are the prizes working, i presume its the same as the previous two events.

Well i hope to see people there, whos coming?

Happy Easter ;D

Guess what! You will be wearing the Ears and wearing the shirt at Hunts, no excuses ;D ;D. See you all there ;)

Chains,

Team Essex is rolling. Rod (I've got a little sail) Thorpe and I will be there.  Marcus has been training hard and may be up for it as well.

Windy, did you get anywhere with Jacko?

Chris

I managed to eventually speak with Jacko yesterday. I am now arranging to take my mast to him next week for repair, but he will need to look at it first. I am looking at a new mast and am not sure if I should go for Proctor which I will need to rig or Super Spar (any suggestions greatfully received) but it will mean a trip to P&B Northampton to collect. Hunts is therefore looking decidedly unlikely. :'(  I may try to go on Saturday and if so will drop in at Hunts to see whats going on.

Windy, I'm sure Jacko will sort out your mast track, no problem.  I wouldn't go for the thinner section/thick wall Superspar personally, but there again I've acquired a Jacko mast and that's a similar profile.  Have a chat with Andy Elliot as I'm sure he'll give you good advice.

Hope you get the mast sorted Windy. Did that happen at Haversham?

Looks like the prediction of if Haversham is windy Hunts will be light was spot on..

Didn't see any of you - just like a normal day on the water!

Thanks to Mark and the team at Hunts for a very enjoyable day.
