Just got the date for the 2013 Phantom Winter Champs to be held at Chase Sailing Club nr Walsall. We have confirmed the date of 9th & 10th of February, they have booked a band for Sat. night and are negotiation with the Sailing centre for accomodation on site, plus Camping for the brave and hardy, motorhome welcome too..

Having never been to Chase before can anybody direct me to the nearest hotel that everybody uses?

Here are a few hotels that are not too far from Chase. Some are cheaper than others but it is a starting point.

Hi All,
Just to let you all know Chase is full! the water is back.
The club house will be open on Friday evening to welcome visitors. Motorhomes are welcome and food will be available from saturday morning.
We have planned an evening of entertainments on Saturday with a Live band playing and disco afterwards.

Hi John,
Unfortunately the sailing school next door is not available. Shame as it has bunk type accomodiation.
but there is a good selection of hotels close and room to park campers on site.

If anybody is struggling to find accommodation for the winters please let me know. There maybe an opportunity to stop with club members.

Hi All,
Just to let you know the sailing club will be open on friday evening from about 7.00pm. The bar will be open but no food. maybe if enough people want food then we can organise a take away delivery ;D
Apologies but i am also struggling to upload an entry foam. As it is quite late in the day. Really the best thing to do is turn up on the day. See you all friday/saturday.

P.s. the weather is looking good for the weekend. Force 2-3 Saturday and Force 4-5 on Sunday. It will be cold but sunny on Saturday and a bit warmer on Sunday.

Stay eagle-eyed for the Membership Transom Stickers since >50% of the pre-entries list are NOT Members ! ...... have they read the NoR or SI's at all ????
This is not a general Open Event, it's a Class Event ..... subtle difference; only for competition amongst Class Association Members !
Latest batch of Membership receipts went in to the post earlier this week.

Yes, i forgot to say that everybody needs to be a member. A quick question, would it be ok for us to collect memberships fees on the day and send them to you afterwards?
We are trying to get as many people as possible to come along ;D

I have paid my membership and paid for my boat measurement but havent received my membership sticker or measurement certificate the card version anyway - I have a A4 bit of paper. Sorry arrived today !!

Dunno about the 'good' weather ..... I've just been beaten back! I set off at 16:00 into sleet, then great blobs of snow, and after 25 miles and 3rd RTI gridlock, in 2-hrs, just gave up and headed home slowly cross-country! Sorry about that !
Memberships: Yes please, collect if you can, then send them to me for stickers, or watch the guys pay online. Any queries (I was carrying loads of stuff, stuffed into my sleeping bag in the van), give me a call on 07713-103 428. I'll be sitting by a raging fire with lots of hot teas ....

Light winds meant we only got two races in.
Andy Wilde is first on 2pts then a bunch of four on 8pts.
Trying to fit three in today before thr snow comes!!!!!

Many thanks to you and everybody at Chase for a well organised event it was great to see the lake full.
Andy Wilde was the clear winner with a good scrap for all the other places.
