@ Comittiee we discussed where we should go, as we were undecided we are asking for your opinion.

Holland
Not really a European event if you haven't been on a ferry...

Not thst I can gauruntee getting to either, but if I were to go to one, it would definitelly be a preference for Holland.   I can get to Medemblik quicker than I can get to scotland (it is so easy via the tunnel)  and it is a great place to sail .....  The couple of times I have sailed in Scotland (Largs) have been very poor memories of awful shifty winds and wearing drysuits and balaclavas in August !!!!  not my idea of fun ....

You southern softies are confusing the West coast with the East coast - East Lothian is one of the driest places in the UK!

(And if you tie it in with the Edinburgh Festival/Finge dates you can have sun, wind, AND culture!)

oops.....

I blame Jeremy for misleading me..... Still would prefer holland, no dis-respect to our friends north of the border but i've not been there for years.

No problem - we'll still have a Scottish event at some point in 2013 - with a name like that you're an honorary Scot anyway!   ;)

Hi Donald
the term driest is not a term that should be used as encouraging for the Phantom fleet.
A dry venue, nobody would turn up!

Bribery and corruption time - if we get a decent number of Phantoms up to ELYC for a Scottish event I will make sure we have ample supplies of the liquid stuff for 'getting outside of' - Deuchers IPA on draft and perhaps some Scotch Pies to wash it down with!  :P

Surely we have to go back to Medemblik, if not for the blue b@stard (energy drink!) then we need to rescue the Phantom mascot Titches bird left in the Black n White club!
