Phantoms at Weymouth?
« on: November 12, 2012, 01:55:25 PM »

Sounds like a good weekend and having provided Safety support at Weymouth I know the facilities and sailing are great

Surely we can get 20 Phantoms here for a class specific start.

Hi

Was just about to start a thread on this but see we already had one open

What a great idea, can we get a class start with a "southern championship here over the bank holiday weekend..?

on-line entries open NOW

Just had a look at the entries, only 7 single handers so far. I think it looks like a cracking event and a Phantom fleet would be fab.

Is anyone intending to do this event?

To get the ball rolling I have entered and should show up on the entry list.

I have booked a room in the RYA block as its stumbling distance from the club.

I didn't book the Friday training just in case we are doing a class thing but will do if there isn't any.

Should be a good event

Cheers

I'll almost certainly be doing this but like Andy won't be registering for a while.  Depends on mine and my daughters diaries.

Spent a week on a safety boat at Weymouth last year and hated every minute of it cos I wanted to be out there sailing!! Great venue with fantastic facilities and a few good boozers as well. We had a cracking house up on the hillside of Portland overlooking Weymouth and Chesil beach and I'll be seeing if that's available again.

I have to confess to having an ulterior motive - Castle Cove is my home club, on Portland Harbour, but the boat I have there at the mo isn't the Phantom. I can easily swap them over as the Phantom would be my weapon of choice for this event, but wanted to gauge interest before coughing up the entry fee.

I guess I shall do what everyone else is doing and keep an eye on the entries for a while, but quietly start sprucing up the phantom in anticipation  :)

Unfortunately I'm out of the country all of August so much as I'd love to not able to to.

In fact just heard that my boat blew over in the  boat park last weekend and I'm not even home to check out the damage until next weekend.

Still hoping to make POSH and the Nationals, away for everything else!
