Woodies at the SN
« on: January 24, 2011, 03:29:24 PM »

Am I on my own in my woodie (sailing off 1025 I see!) this Saturday? Can I give a general call to arms for those who want to have a race within a race?

Come on - got to get out there! otherwise Bryant and May will be rubbing their hands..... :o

Titch, surely an increase! A reduction will mean he has to go even faster....
Does this now mean you will consider giving a class recommended py for the old phants?

Problem is... Where do you finish picking a handicap...?

And maybe the RYA have got this point correct....

If you pick a new handicap for a wooden phantom, what about the wooden Fireball, Mirror, Enterprise, OK, Solo Streaker....?  all of which are less competitive than the epoxy version...

One thing picking a personal handicap for a woodie for club racing completly another for a major event..

Plus some of us remember when Pete Evans gave us all a run for our money for a couple of seasons in his wood 1147.

Discuss...

I now own 1147 and it's not so fast. Should I pull the anchor in?
