I have had a few requests for "A Bit of Training", I have spoken to SYC and we can sail on Thursday, I propose to travel up Thursday morning (Early). So I am proposing we can do an "On Shore" tuning session, Bring tape...
and then go for a "Yacht" do some training on the water, I can shout at you to "keep it flat". If interested please let me know...

There may be a small cost involed if SYC need to provide rescue cover, but I am sure we can sort this out nearer the time...

I'm in the process of asking this sort of question of SYC.
A most positive holding-answer has come back to say that there's several B&Bs very close, and hotels, and an internal grassed area for camping and some (limited) van-space.
David Marchbanks of SYC is now coordinating a coherent reply/info and will get back once it's all there and makes sense; please wait a bit.

Guys, i moved away from Sunderland a couple of years ago and my advice would be to try and get somewhere along the sea front or close by.  All the B&B's are pretty good to be honest, Roker Hotel is good to and I dont think stupidly priced and all will be withing 10 minute walk from the club.  The likes of Washington is a 15 / 20 min drive to the club.
If anyone needs any help or unsure of how far from the club etc, please feel free to drop me an email on paul@harken.co.uk or give me a call on 07791 463555 (If i dont answer please leave a message).  Im pretty busy with olympic stuff but will get back to anyone as soon as possible. 
Im there on Saturday so I can check availability and see if I can get any deals for the event.
