Pennine SC Open 1st June 2014
« on: May 20, 2014, 10:10:01 PM »

Dear Phantom sailors,

The 4th event in the Phantom North 2014 series, sponsored by Standards Plus, (www.standardsplus.co.uk) will be held at Pennine Sailing Club (www.pennine-sc.co.uk) on Sunday 1st June 0214.

“It’s always windy at Pennine” - is a phrase the locals use, and it is to!! It’s a great place to sail and a great location, perched on top of the moors, well the Pennines. It’s only 30 minutes from Sheffield, Leeds or Manchester.

This event is usually well attended, so we hope to have about 15 to 20 boats on the water. The first race is at 11.00 hrs (I think). Hope to see you there.

Ollie.

As Ollie says we are pretty central so easy to get to from the NorthWest not far from Glossop along the Woodhead pass. For anyone coming from Midlands or further a field we are 13 miles from the M1 J35A or from the North its J37. Post code S36 4TF.

We have a new extension this year so a comfortable dry area/ bar  for any non sailors that  want to come with you.

Give me a shout if you need any more info

Yep its looking light. If there is wind about we should get it though.

If its warm enough we should get a decent breeze off the moors. 8)
