Hi to all Phantom Sailors,

This is your invitation to join in the Phantom Open to be held at Blithfield Sailing Club on Sunday 7th July 2013. This is the “North –v- Midlands” round and we usually get a good turnout. The northern series is sponsored by Standards Plus Ltd. ( www.standardsplus.co.uk )

Blithfield ( www.blithfield.org.uk ) is a great venue and a really friendly club with travel and venue information on their website. There are about 5-6 local Phantom sailors so we are expecting a good turnout of between 15 and 20 boats, with some fun sailing. There are 3 races starting at 12.00 hrs. This is a joint venue for the Midlands Circuit and the Northern Circuit and last year was won by a Southerner ! It is a combined event with the Solution Class, so there’ll be a big buzz at the club. 5 days to go – until the Phantom Open at Blithfield Sailing club
5th round - of the Northern Travellers Series for 2013
5 mph winds – forecast
5 points total – current series score for the “top of the table” Ed Thomas
5 miles – from Uttoxeter  (Staffordshire)

This is the annual “Midlands –v- North” event  - there’s usually a good turn out (21 boats last year), it is a friendly club (Lee loaned a carbon mast to Ed last year) and is always fun. It’s a great stretch of water and the weather is expected to be warm – 20 to 25 oC. If you are not sure about Phantom Open events, then give this one a try.

Would really like to see you this Sunday at Blithfield SC.
