When the Northern Series results come out, i think we just look at them and see where everyone is from.  Base the opens around them.  I think we should have about 5-6 opens max to focus the northern phantoms to get bigger turnouts.
Initial thoughts - L&L, Delph, Pennine, West Riding, Carsington

Alex

PD would host an open if we wanted but really could do with more turning up.

Send me the calendar please and I'll put a date in for Pennine. Are we going to have Filey as an open again for an event on the sea?

Delph clashes with Stone can you have a look at an alternative?

Hi All

Could we arrange some training in the North before one of the events? Is anyone else interested?

And what would a club need to do to get there club on the Northern Travellers 2011 events list, please note I haven't talked to the club yet but some details of what is needed would help in the asking.

I would be interested in a Northen based Training session, weekend would be good, but I'd take time off work if that was the only time available.

I would also be up for a Training session in the north west as well.
Bass is a good place to add to the Tavellers as bass week is the 1st week of aug and the ents have there open there as the same time a bass week. it could be a good event with lots of beer and partys. could see if they could run it on the 1st weekend of the regatta. If not you should all come to bass week any way as it is one of the best events at the mo to go to with lots of fun all thru the week... ;D

Any more on the over all results for the 2010 nw?

Going to set up a northwest facebook page later. mite help to promote for 2011 and onwards.
Thx

Ed,
please don't set up another facebook thinghy. It will just lead to more splintering of the class between areas. How will you get more people to come along to Northern events if you segregate off the information into a specific facebook page/group. The best way is to get the chatter going more on here and convince other people in the region to get involved as well. I have sub-divided the opens pages into travellers regions which should help the Northern stuff get noticed more rather than dying in the midst of Eastern & Southern events.

What we really need is someone to represent the Northerners and get the class going there including possibly writing the reports up, etc. Admittedly a thankless task but after a while very worthwhile.

Let me know if there is anything I can do further on the website that will help you guys up north please
