Winter sailing
« on: September 29, 2019, 12:03:13 PM »

Hi,

Ardleigh Sailing Club are offering the class a fleet start for Phantoms and at least eight boats have signed up for the winter series (they also run a frostbite series post Christmas).

This is a change of venue from Alton Water and both Matt House and Bob Portway are going to give it a go.  The Creeksea fleet are also moving there for winter.  The club has at least three Phantoms that we know of as well, so it should be a good turnout each weekend.

Whilst Ardleigh is a smaller reservoir it should offer the opportunity to improve boat handling skills and racing “craft”.

There are other clubs offering winter sailing, not least chairman Phil’s Stone Sailing Club, but I’m mentioning this now as the total entry is limited and no-one can now say “I didn’t know about that”!
