Daren collected his boat on Sunday from Rollesby with the intention of attending Hickling so there is a strong chance he will be there to offer comedic support for his rabbit suit wearing son.....

I'm not sure if I've been wound up or not!!!,apparently coming 5th means you have to write the report??? :-\

As a relatively new participant in the Eastern travellers series I can only say what a bloody nice bunch of blokes they are,I'd especially like to thank Windy and Titch for donating various bit's so I could put my kicker back together at the end of the days racing, after it had exploded in the middle of the second race. >:(

The Racing:-
Race one, saw JJ get an early lead that he retained throughout the race, with Windy, myself, Chris chasing hard. Windy, who had maintained 2nd place for a majority of the race, got caught up in some weed and dropped back,"where did he come from, Matt" was catching fast as we rounded the last mark, with James already through Chris finished second, Matt snuck through to claim 3rd, me 4th and Titch 5th
Race Two, James got away again, chased by the pack, with positions changing all the time especially on the long down wind leg,Titch followed James across the line with Matt in 3rd,Chris 4th and Steve 5th
Race Three, Matt refused to allow James three bullets and led the way,James finding 2nd place, Steve Johnson 3rd The Pikey 4th and Titch 5th.
With light airs all day Saturday, the wind ranging from not a lot to about 11knts would normally mean applying tactics and strategy in light flukey conditions, this may have been the case part of the time the rest was taken up by clearing weed from your foils and avoiding shallows, or not, as  Matt and Chris proved when in the second race Matt came to a sudden grinding halt on Starboard and Chris on Port didn't  :o :'( .Race Three saw the acrobatic prowess of Mr Jarvey,  attempting to retrieve his trailing painter and almost pitch polling his boat in the process, hilarious, could only have been funnier if he'd gone in!!!
Saturday night:-
Great evening, with the entertainment provided by Hinge and Brackett AKA Thumper and his dad the Pikey, topics as diverse as George Clooneys sexuality to who looks like a fat Ben Afflic (you had to have been there!!)
Sunday dawned quite and windless and stayed that way until racing was cancelled at around midday. Presentations were made the results are as follows:-

1st....... J Jarvey
2nd.......M House
3rd........C Roberts
4th........J Wayling
5th........P Bidwell  (scribe??)
6th........S Johnson
7th........D Pike(y)
8th........N Favel
9th........I Miller
10th.......J Pulfer
11th.......W.Martin

All in all a great event regardless of the wind or lack of. Anyone contemplating joining the Eastern Travellers circuit do it, you won't regret it.

Thanks Guys.

Bidders

Lovely write up, thanks Bidders.  Pops Pike is definitely the one with the squeaky voice!

Thanks too to Hickling for hosting.  Always tough to organise in those conditions but at least we got some good racing in on Saturday.

I managed to lose a Rooster Poly Pro Sock in the changing room so if anyone has it please give me a shout.  Cheers
