Alton Water Open and Training day.
« on: March 07, 2012, 08:12:44 PM »

The Eastern Series 2012 kicks of on the 24/March  8) with a training day on the Saturday, this is followed on the Sunday by a 4 race Open Meeting. Virtual Rigger will be attending on the Saturday so those of you who need gear for the start of the season if you contact Simon Butterworth he has said he is happy to deliver this directly to you at Alton (get your orders in early !!).
I have booked the pub for Saturday evening. It would be helpful to have an idea of numbers so that we can organise enough ribs ect and to ensure I have booked enough space at the pub. I have provisionally booked 20 but with those that have already indicated attendence (+ the WAGS) I may have under estimated.
I will post more details in due course. If you need to know anything further for now please post here.

Cheers
Windy

Thanks for organising this, please put me down for both days.  First time out in the new tub assuming that I have a rig and have put all the bits on the boat..

Cheers

I'm Sunday only.
Is it possible to leave boat somewhere, at or close to Alton from say, Thursday ?

Cancelling childrens party invites left, right and centre, and thus should be there for both days. Saturday evening unlikely however.

I'll be there! Looking forward to it. Booked in at the Premier Inn.

Ben, when on the thursday would you want to drop off? the centre is open during daylight hours and am sure if you speak to the guys on reception they'll be happy for you to leave it there for a couple of days. I'm down there on Sunday so will have a word.

Cheers,

Jez.

Due to some poor planning on my part I'm not going to be able to stay for the meal on Sat eve.  >:( This also means I have a room spare at the Premier Inn if anyone is still looking for accomodation? £44 double room.

Notice on the Alton Water site says training starts at 10 am.

Is this the case or is it abit optimistic?
