Eastern Series Finale - Hickling Broad Open
« on: September 27, 2010, 08:03:33 PM »

Hi All

The final round of the Eastern Series takes place on 16th and 17th October at Hickling Broad SC.

6 races, 5 to count

Briefing at 11 on 16th with first race at 11:40. First race at 10:33 on 17th.

Camping is available in the car park but otherwise there are a number of B&B and hotel options closeby. Search online for accommodation close to Stalham or Hickling.

On Saturday night we'll grab the usual meal at the Pleasure Boat pub next to the club followed by a few jars I daresay.

Any questions, just ask  :D

I'd have thought so one way or another mate. Its basically grass next to the car park hard so you should be OK.

Hi Simon,
I will be there, had planned to do Minnis but Northerly gales and a chest infection changed my mind! (turned out to be a good decision but tough on Clive and all at MBSC)
Matt House has booked BB on my behalf so see you there.

Cheers.

Hi All

Just spoken to Mr Jarvey and he has confirmed that he will be around from 7PM onwards on the friday evening, therefore he can let people in to dump boats etc should they need.

I am awaiting confirmation on whether or not the club can provide breakfasts on Sunday morning. It not the norm and I guess it depends on whether or not they can get hold of the caterers to staff the kitchen earlier than usual, therefore for the time being, probably best to assume not, and I can update you on here if anything changes.

Looking forward to seeing everyone on Sat morning. I'll either be sailing if P&B have sorted out my mast by then, or I'll be official photographer!

Simon F

My spare mast is already on the trailer. If you wish to use it you are more than welcome.

See you on Friday.

Thats kind Windy, thank you. With luck, P&B and Noble will have sorted it out between themselves and I'll either have a repaired mast or a replacement by the weekend. We shall see! To be honest, if its not sorted by then, I think I'll just spectate and be official photographer.

Titch, thanks again for the offer... Just waiting to hear what the plan is from Tom S at P&B tomorrow. Apparently the section Selden sent them was bent so no use and they are negotiating with insurers on my behalf. Hopefully more news tomorrow. Bit of a saga really and thoroughly fed up with it!

Shame you can't make it Doug, catch up soon
