Boom split pin
« on: October 14, 2018, 12:10:43 AM »

Hi folks

Daft question, but on the top of my boom nearest the gooseneck, I have a riveted attachment with a split pin.

Can anyone tell me what it’s for?

Thanks

Martin

Would have been used for the pinning the sail. Don't think I've seen anyone use it for years as it stops the sail loosening when you let the Cunningham off . Use a loop of rope around the mast that's free to move up and down the mast, unless you say up an inhaul of course

I wondered about that, but it would make it very tight.
Thank you for the reply.
