Might be able to join the fun, if I can get the boat fitted out in time?

Who's coming then? Folowing on from the best two attended Northern Phantom opens in years.  8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8)

Northern Series - Super Series Event on the sea, early practice for Stone?

Where's all these southern promises of " We'll support you, you always come to our events?" Haven't seen any of you yet!!!

I'm planning on going, always look forward to a session on the sea.

Hopefully it will attract a few sailors although I can't beleive those southerners will dare to venture into the northern hemisphere ! :P
It's far too much travelling for them !

But the rise in temperatures might tempt them out, but beware the north sea is a little cooler than the costa del south.

Hope we get a good turnout to support the traveller / super series

Good weekend overall. Probably the broadest mix of weather conditions I have ever experienced!

Not sure why we had a break between races on sunday  ??? Reduced the turnout somewhat

Overall a good weekend anyway

Roll on the start of the Midland events  ;D

A mixed bag of weather greeted the Phantom sailors attending Filey.  Saturday was light with the first race including a 180 degree shift and difficult sailing.  Only one race was sailed on Saturday.

Sunday looked light but at the start the wind was a good force 2 - 3, providing great racing in the first race.  Unfortunately the race officer decided to come in for lunch which reduced the turnout of the final race were the wind now had increased to about 18 knots.  This provided excellent racing in a good chop, congratulations to Thomas Tindall for winning this race.

Overall results:

1st  PHANTOM 1291 Andrew Wilde   Carsington SC
2nd PHANTOM 1337 Thomas Tindall   Yorkshire Dales
3rd  PHANTOM 1342 Ed Thomas   Pilkington & West Lancs YC
4th  PHANTOM 1120 Richard Rawson   Ogston SC
5th  PHANTOM 1223 Richard Sims   Carsington SC
6th  PHANTOM 1281 Adam Perry   Pennine SC 0
7th  PHANTOM 1234 Kevin Walker   Ripon SC
8th  PHANTOM 1100 Mike Webster   Delph SC
