Phantom try out sessions 2019
« on: November 22, 2018, 10:44:24 AM »

what do you reckon ?

at Open events next year the Class offers try out sessions - this seemed OK with a couple of stalwarts at Felixstowe.  I'm OK with lending Una & to this end I've sourced a nice flat North & a lifting rudder.

venues such as Bowmoor, Castle Cove, Northampton, Creeksea, Salcombe & Paignton etc seem suitable. Assuming clubs allow then a rib might be useful for an hour or two. to get the most out of these sessions would the likes of Titch, Will & Simon H et al lend their presence ?

if this has got legs how best to advertise & arrange ?

Hi Steve
Sorry been away but I have in the past and will do again offer my boat for people to have a try.
It works ask Nigel King at Lymington and Edd and Mark at Lee, all converts this past year.
Yes it would be great if we offered a try a boat day in each area with class support but it also works on a one to one basis as I have done.
The new boat might make me a little more careful about having a rib to get them off the beach etc

Gentlemen

would there be any interest in putting on a Phantom try out  at Bowmoor immediately before their Open ?  I think we'd need ;
Phantom Class Association to actively support/publicise this initiative
Phantoms (happy to lend mine)
club rib & a couple of experienced Phantom helms
obviously subject to Bowmoor SC etc being onboard

or am I flogging a dead horse ??

If the boats finished in time I am happy to help. nice soft edges at Bowmoor should be fairly safe!
