What is the date for the Ogston Open in 2013? In Andy's thread for 2013 events it states 14th April but on the Events list on the site it says 7th April, which clashes with Leigh & Lowton on the Northern Circuit. Checked the Ogston website but they're in the process of building a new one so not a lot of info there!

Was hoping to do both these events but may have to pick one if they clash.

Ogston open this weekend first race 11am

Despite best efforts of the race committee the open was not completed. The start was delayed till 12pm however this seemed to allow time for the wind to increase. Only 1 of the 6 home boats agreed to go out along with 7 visitors conditions proved to strong. By the start of the race I had snapped my mast in a gust strong enough to blow you over and a few boats turned round and went in. 3 boats appeared to still be racing led by local Simon Knighton followed by Andy couch and Richard sims. Following a number of capsizes Andy was leading but retired through fear of braking something Simon was the only surviver to finish the race. Everyone decided to pack up after that. Next event is blithfield.
