I haven't done a weight comparison of S2 and Kappa, but for equal stiffness a HM carbon tube is typically 50% of the weight of aluminium. Of course, the fittings, halyard, etc aren't lighter, so overall the advantage is less. On the other hand, the biggest reduction is most likely in the top part where HM carbon gets quite skinny; less weight up top means less pitching and tipping.
