Alternative Date - Ovington Inland Regatta / Winter Champs

Guys

You may have seen that Grafham/ Ovington are looking to re-sail the event in December.

The Association have made the decision not to take part.

As an alternative we are going to promote the Steve Nicholson Trophy event at Northampton Sailing Club on Saturday 30 January as a Winter Championship with the club extending an invitation to join the club boats on Sunday if you want to make a weekend of it.

Please note that the event is limited on numbers so early entry is advised.

If you need any more details please look at the Sailjuice Series or NSC websites.

If we dont want to do the Steve Nics but only sail the Sunday will we still be able to qualify ? and will the Phantoms have our own start ?

Open to suggestions at this stage but had envisaged having the Winters just on the Saturday extracting from the Steve Nich results.  Not sure we can get our own start and ask Will or Titch to comment.

Attendance at a Winter Champ hasn't been great for a while so didn't want to commit a clubs resources or our attendance to a 2 day event.  NSC club racing is I think 3 races on the Sunday for those that want to stay.  There usually a few around on the Sat night and racing Sun will be as our guests so free.

I hope that helps for the moment

Ok so in small words so i understand, our new inlands is now at NSC on Sat 30th Jan, but will now be be part of a 1 day all class open, with our results just taken out separately.  There is an invite to do a 2nd day, but day 2 will have  nothing to do with the champs.

There is no Inlands for 2015.

The Steve Nich will be our Winter Champs as a one day event.
There is an open invitation for people to stay on Sat night and join in with club racing on the Sunday.

The 2016 Inlands will be at Grafham as part of the Ovington Regatta in December.   The dates for next years programme was about to be announced but the issues surrounding our Nationals will ean that they are delayed until we understand all of the ramifications
