I'm keen to try, but I've never sailed there - what is it like? Not too keen on 2-mile beats or hour-long trips to the start line. Can someone who's sailed there before let us know what to expect?

Also I see the ferry is from Harwich - is there a cheap option for travel?

Thanks

I am just about to send out some more info,,,, watch your e mails, if I havne't got your e mail, PM me with it... ;)

You can use any ferry to Europe, I am working on Harwich to Hook because it limits the driving, Dover Calis with boat in tow is £150 ish.

or put boat on roof and pay for overheight vehicle ???

I am still waiting to hear from Stenna :-\

I have also looked at Gt. Yarmouth with Norfolk line, they are working a deal, I'll let you know the asap

Hook To Medemblik is around 80 KMS a little over an hour depending on traffic.

As far as costs go Harwich to Hook with car upto 6m long and 1.8m (just about get a Phantom on roof) and trailer up to 8m long and 3m high (so negates height limit on car!!) out on the Thursday at 9am, arriving 430pm with a return on Sunday at 10pm including a cabin for 4 on the return journey £342  ;D

Alternative is Ramsgate Oostende at around £150 return with a 200 mile drive or Dover Calais and a 260 mile drive

The water i believe we would sail in is infact a big lake - the Ijsslemer

The bit of road at the top isn't a bridge its a dam  ;D

So far the ferry cost is down to £250 for my motorhome and trailer  :D with a cabin for two both ways :-[

I told them I would go Dover Calis and take my other 12 vehicles and trailer with me :o

They are looking at options, working with OK fleet to get there numbers rolled in too for more discount ???

Stenna :'(

There is the option to use your Tesco clubcard vouchers to get you to Holland......!
Under the clubcard deals you can trade your vouchers in and get 4 times their worth.
Put this into perspective the other half goes shopping you go sailing.
The other half goes shopping you go sailing.
See the pattern here ??
Vouchers arrive save them up, you end up with eg. £50 in vouchers you send off and get £200 worth of travel....SIMPLES...
Oh....then
other half goes shopping
you go sailing in holland

You do what you like doing ....and they do what comes naturally..

Think of it as a win win situation...thats what ive told mine..he..he..he
Happy Days.. ;D

I have a contact at Ramsgate who might be able to do a deal on a crossing to Oostende, let me know if you would like me to investigate.

Share holder maybe....      looking for every which way to get more people to the europeans...definatley.....I didn't even mention double clubcard points at the moment...oops just did.
Windy you could look at it like this..I'm simply providing great reasons to send the other half shopping and getting more of the fleet sailing.
