NOTICE OF RACE
VENUE
The Royal Yacht Club Hollandia takes pleasure in inviting you to participate in
the 2010 Spring Regatta for the OK Dinghy, Phantom and Solo class, which will
be held from 30 April till 2 May 2010, inclusive and will be sailed on the
IJsselmeer off Medemblik, the Netherlands.
The Organizing Authority is the Royal Yacht Club Hollandia.
1 RULES
1.1 The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules
of Sailing.
1.2 The sailing instructions may contain minor changes to the rules.
1.3 If there is a conflict between languages the English text will take
precedence.
2 ADVERTISING
Boats may be required to display advertising chosen and supplied by the
organizing authority.
3 ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY
3.1 The regatta is open to all boats of the OK Dinghy, Phantom and Solo
classes.
3.2 Eligible boats may enter by registration with the Organizing Authority.
3.3 Entries shall be made on the website:

4 FEES
The entry fees are as follows:
OK Dinghy and Phantom Class: € 60
Solo Class € 40
and must be paid in cash upon registration.

No warning signal will be given after 15.30 on Sunday 2 May
6 MEASUREMENTS
Each boat shall produce a valid measurement certificate.
Boats and crews may be inspected during the regatta at the discretion of
the Race Committee
7 SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
The sailing instructions will be available after 8.30 on 30 April at the
Regatta Office located in the International Sailing Center Medemblik
8 VENUE
8.1 Attachment 1 shows the location of the regatta harbour.
8.2 Attachment 2 shows the location of the racing areas.
9 THE COURSES
Trapezoid courses.
10 PENALTY SYSTEM
No international Jury will be appointed.
11 SCORING
11.1 Four races are required to be completed to constitute a series.
11.2 (a) When fewer than five races have been completed, a boat’s series
score will be the total of her race scores.
(b) When from five to eight races have been completed, a boat’s series
score will be the total of her race scores excluding her worst score.
12 BERTHING
Boats shall be kept in their assigned places in the boat park.
13 RADIO COMMUNICATION
Except in an emergency, a boat shall neither make radio transmissions
while racing nor receive radio communications not available to all boats.
This restriction also applies to mobile telephones.
14 PRIZES
Prizes will be given as follows: a series prize for every six boats entered in
time.
15 DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY
Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See rule 4,
Decision to Race. The organizing authority will not accept any liability for
material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with
or prior to, during, or after the regatta.
16 INSURANCE
Each participating boat shall be insured with valid third-party liability
insurance with a minimum cover of € 1.200.000 per event or the
equivalent.
17 REGATTA OFFICE
The regatta office inside the ISCM will be open for registration Friday 30
April from 8.30 hrs and Saturday 1 May from 8.00 (for the Solo class).

Please note: these numbers will only be
monitored during the regatta.

Medemblik is a medieval town with some very small roads. So If
you are arriving with a boat, please start following the white road signs to
the recreation site “Vooroever” (later on follow: harbour “Regatta Center
Medemblik”) before entering the town of Medemblik.
18 TRAILER PARKING, DOCKING AND CARS
All participants shall park their boats and road-trailers on the premises of
the harbour Regatta Center Medemblik. Cars shall be parked in the
designated parking areas near the Regatta Office. No cars are allowed at
the dinghy park. Please follow the beach master’s and the harbour
master's instructions at all times.
19 HOUSING AND CAMPERS/CARAVANS
Regulations in the Netherlands prohibit sleeping in campers and caravans
parked along public roads or in public car parks.
On the designated area on the premises of the harbour RCM campers
sleeping in caravans or campers is allowed, provided a fee of € 2.50 per
person per night (tourists tax) will be paid to the City of Medemblik. The
fee is payable at the regatta office upon registration.
20 ACCOMODATION
Competitors shall make their own housing arrangements.For information

The Royal Yacht Club Hollandia will invite all competitors for a free drink
on Friday 30 April to celebrate the official birthday of the Queen of the
Netherlands..

The IJsselmeer has fresh water without tide or current.
There are no obstructions in the racing area of Hollandia, which is considered
one of the most beautiful in Europe.

Route to harbour Regatta Center Medemblik
Medemblik is a medieval town, with some very small roads. In order to restrict
the traffic inconvenience for the people of Medemblik, please start following the
white road signs to the recreation site Vooroever (later on follow: harbour
Regatta Center Medemblik) before entering the town of Medemblik.
