Walton & Frinton GP
« on: July 19, 2015, 06:57:35 PM »

Many many thanks to Martin and the rest of Walton & Frinton Yacht Club for a great weekend.  You looked after us royally well and laid on some great racing to-boot.

Report to follow once an ocs debate (mistaken identity or to put it another way... "what me ??? there were at least two boats in front of me.... honest") gets sorted.

Cheers
Ian

Agree with the comments above, welcoming friendly club for a great weekends sailing.

Just needs a deeper water channel or some better channel markers   :o  ;D

Hi All,
Thanks for your nice comments, we thought the weekend went really well. The common response I got from our Race Team and others at the club was what a great bunch you all are, and it's true!
I am proud to be part of such a cracking bunch of sailors and mates.
There was some confusion from Race 4 regarding OCS, the wisdom of lending a mate a spare sail came into question!
Happily a photo gave the required evidence and Simon in his woody was confirmed OCS along with Nick Wood  so the results as given at the prizegiving have now been ratified they are:-
1st Ian Sullivan 3,(7) 1,1,1= 6
2nd Matt House 1,(2) 2,2,2=7
3rd Bob Portway (18DNS) 1,5,3,3m=12
4th Martin Jenkins 7,5,(12) 4,4=20
5th Paul Church 6,(16OCS) 4,9,5=24
6th Pete Shuttleworth 4,8,(9) 6,6=24
7th Warren Martin (10) 6,7,5,10=28
8th Daren Pike 2,3,3, (21DNC) 21DNC=29
9th Phil Longley 5,(13) 8,8,9=30
10th Ian Miller 9,4,6,(16RET) 15DNF=34
11th Stewart Jarvis (13)11,10,7,8==36
12th Simon Hipkin 11,9,11,(16OCS) 7=38
13th Dale Jones 12,10,16DNF,(17DNS) 15DNF=53
14th Chris Nelson 8,16DNF,14,16DNF,(21DNC)=54
15th Ian Hill 14,12,13,(16RET),15DNF=54
16th Nick Wood (21DNC),21DNC,21DNC,16OCS,11=69
17th Johnathan Pulfer 17RET,(21DNC) 21DNC,21DNC, 21DNC=80
A huge thanks to you all for coming, to Ian Sullivan for his support and particularly to Matt House for his help in getting the event planned!

Cheers,

All that and I don't get a single mention for my epic beat back on Saturday.  :o.....

I'm with everyone else, was a great weekend and a massive learning spike for me in the class.  Maybe a little less mud next time though eh ;).

Big thanks go to everyone at W&fyc.

Ps - how do I get the last image removed - very undignified & really not fair!  (Lol)
