Just to remind those that have not entered that there is an early entry discount for the event.

https://webcollect.org.uk/llsc/event/2015-phantom-open-11th-12th-april

Looks like being a cracking event with entries from the South, East and Midlands.

Glaring omission from the list... Where are the locals ????

Please help the club out and enter early so that they have an idea of numbers.

Cheers

Any idea of what you would like to cover on Sat am from a training perspective, Monster n I will be at you beck n call...
Find us at the "Sundance Bar" when you arrive...

Some clues beforehand might help us planning the morning, on shore or on the water let us know what you would like?

I'd really like to know how to get a phantom to go downwind fast? Could also do with some pointers on setting my wavelength mast up plus setting up efficient continuous controls but don't let that hold up 'on the water' training!

What time do you plan on starting?

Steve

The plans are flexible depending on who comes and what's needed.  If the numbers are there we can run the shore and on the water training at the same time.

For the shore stuff we can help with setup, measurement, basic principles etc. We don't have a specific plan but will respond to individual needs.  For the on water stuff I'll be in a rib and will set up a simple triangle or square and will run one lap sprints.  I'll then follow you about shouting about getting the boat flat.....

For those that have a bit more Phantom experience, come and get some starting practice as most people only do it during races as I don't know anybody who doesn't need the practice.  If you want help I'll watch you and then we can discuss options and why you took the one you did before you have another go.

Depowering is something people have raised so that starts onshore with setup and then on the water with boat handling .  With plenty of starts we can look at individual  starting strategy, boat and sail trim.  We'll try and make it more Phantom orientated rather than just taking or gybing on a whistle.

We have used the format before and can say that the earlier you get there the more we can cover.  We don't profess to be rock stars but between us we may be able to help as we have different backgrounds and experience.

See those that are interested on Saturday

Cheers

I'd be interested in getting the thing downwind I can go high and fast or low and slow but either way seem to get people passing me left right and centre :(

Start time wise i can be there any time from 9:00 but will happily stay in bed for another hour if everyone else is looking to arrive at 10, do we have a rough idea?

Matt,

Best thing is be there for 9, Alice always like to be up early anyway ;)

Low and slow weight will need to be forward, I used to perch my bum on the mainsheet block, as wind rises move back but make sure the mainsheet block is not in the way!!! :o

I'm not sure I'm as much of a fan as early starts as she is then, but I'll be there for 9 no problems.  Thanks for the tips, hopefully I can talk it through a little more over the weekend.

See you all in the morning!

Feeling abit battered and bruised today, see you all at another Grand Prix event soon!
