Hi Ian,

Sorry if my reply did not take in the complete sentiment of your comment. I've had a couple of direct calls about masts and handicaps etc, so am thinking this through at the moment.  Whatever way we do this, it has to allow everyone to feel they can take part and not be disadvantaged in anyway. With different mast and sail combinations possible, boat weights varying considerably and helms being of differing skill levels, it is unlikely that the Nationals will be won by a Classic (though it would be a lovely turn of events if it happened!), trying to strike a balance for everyone will not be that easy.

I hope to suggest a way forward to embrace every one fairly. Watch this space in a few days time.
