Hi Gordon,

2 days of racing sounds good to me.

In fact, make it 3 - invite everyone and call it the Nationals  ;)

Hi Gordon,
So far I have 18th -19th May Shoreham, 14th-5th July Downs
7th-9th Sept Nationals Felixstowe and 6th-7th Oct Salcombe.
Also we usually go to Wimbelball in March.
Trying to get another joint event with the East and I have suggested Creeksea as its our turn to visit them and I really enjoyed it last year and that is normally in June. Looking for one a month and it was from March to November last year. Could do December - February too but not sure there would be many takers...

Hi Phil
So are we looking good for 2019 if we can make some savings?

Thats who has contacted so far. March April June August November are all free so far. I could pull Shoreham if everyone would prefer to go somewhere else instead. We are with the Wayfarers and I was going to DJ again and maybe have a band too.
If the fleet keeps growing we could have 2 events a month !!

Gordon,

If it's June, any idea when it would be?
I'm about to book a holiday in June. At the moment I could book it to make sure I'm available for your event (and my wife isn't on this forum and will never know what I've done ! :D)

Hi Rich
June would be my choice.
it would be handy to make sure it does not clash with Creaksea, so does anybody know what date they are working on as yet?

Chris is trying to get hold of a decent 2018 tide table, once hes got that sorted he can then plan the Creeksea open accordingly, believe he is also already talking to Ivan to avoid potential clashes where possible

1) If we increase the number of ST events give careful consideration to number to count. Potentially the most important issue

2) Continue to schedule inland/estuary events to bookend the ST season where possible

3) Alternating annual East/South joint events - summer 2 day event with camping  (hopefully Creeksea 2018 - though Island Barn 2017 was a well attended , excellently run Spring event)

4) A cap on the number of events ? - I would  suggest 8 with 5 to count. Ivan may disagree & I respect his inclusive approach.

Thanks to Ivan & the clubs for making ST so popular & enjoyable. From time to time I get a glimpse of  how much Ivan does behind the scenes.

no responses to the following please
Hopefully, Frensham, will in time will rejoin the circuit. Beautiful venue, friendly & welcoming club.

I think that this year's number of events / counts worked well with a good balance of inland / sea / 1 day / 2 day events. A similar package for next year would be good as not everybody will attend all of the events.
If Creeksea are willing to host a joint South/East event that would be good. But if this does not work out, Downs would be willing to host both regions on 14/15th July as we are the Easternmost of the Southern Traveller clubs.
Finally I would echo the thanks to Ivan for doing a grand job on co-ordinating the Southern circuit.

Coming to Lee in June could be people's first chance to look at the 2019 Nationals venue.
