3 visiting boats have arrived already. We have a minimum of 12 entries and a great looking forecast.
Launching is no problem, and don't forget your dancing shoes to join Ivan on the floor.

Brilliant day yesterday many thanks to Chris and the Team at Downs SC. Race officer had a real challenge on his hands over the weekend.
Well done to Slow not only master of the light winds.
I actually had to use tow straps and rake the mast!

5th-Place writes the report, so here it is:-
No racing on Saturday and having lost those two, only 3 on Sunday.

Peter Harlow of Poole SC was 7th in 1277 and I'm missing from race 2, that I held on to 3rd all the way round much to Gordons annoyance !!
See you at Highcliffe for a Champagne sailing

HI Ivan
Actually me cocking up the first bit of the second beat in race 1  and James recovering from his dunking on the last gybe far to quickly they annoyed me far more.

Thanks to all of the visitors who came to Downs last weekend, and also for all of the compliments on the forum.
It was very difficult conditions for the Race Officer, and the patience of the sailors on the water was really appreciated.
In the end we got 3 cracking races, and lots of aching limbs on Sunday evening.
See you all at Highcliffe.

....  and I'm missing from race 2, that I held on to 3rd all the way round ....
Yes, sorry about that;  have you seen the conversation on FaceBook about wrong results ?  I took a photo of final results as posted on official notice-board, queried some missing bits with the club but with nil answer decided it was time to go home;  I have shown a copy on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10214235921400270&set=p.10214235921400270&type=3&theater).
Really can't do much better than re-state the Club's record !  However as soon as someone corrects them fully for me, I can send a correction to Y&Y (.... and the article then gets double-exposure .... woo-hooo !).
Hmmm, clearly in race-2 anyway, my mind was swimming, just a bit !

Hey Chris,
As a home-club person can you shed any light on obtaining the correct record of results ?
I did wait three days for anything better to appear on Downs' WebSite, but that still hasn't happened.

Peter Harlow completely missing and some other results omitted.

Hi Chris
Peter 1277 in the last race I am sure he retired and did not finish the race. He was 2nd or 3rd at the time in front of me at the leeward mark and went straight on to the beach.

So Chris,
•  .... no RTD, DNS, DNC yet several 12-pointers and a 7-pointer ?
•  Gordon seems to have an issue also.
•  1420's last result ?
•  ~2-weeks after event and still no definitives.

How does this stack up with the very strongly highlighted "Adherence to RYA Charter" ..... which doesn't just set expectations on competitors' behaviour,  but other organisers' responsibilities as well ?  Bit of a "Fail" there !

Hi Ben

I have updated the results adding DNS, DNF etc. (in orange).
Pete Harlow definitely finished the last race in 6th position as he was not too far behind me at the time. In the last race I had a bad first beat and rounded the windward mark last. I overtook Clive when he capsized at the gybe mark and overtook Pete on the second beat. If I remember correctly, Pete went quite a long way right after the leeward mark and overstood the finish gate. That might be why Gordon thought he was retiring?
