Wimbleball open and Exmoor Beastie
« on: December 12, 2016, 08:38:15 PM »

With the Southern fleet without doubt being the fleet to beat in 2017 , all Phantom sailors are cordially invited (read that as challenged) to take on the Exmoor Beastie and Phantom open on the weekend of 18/19th March. We are making a real occasion of this event and pushing both events. Sponsorship is being sought to ease the aches and boost the prizes. Intended to have a Phantom curry on the Saturday night as we did some years ago and make floor space available to keep the costs down for those willing to travel. Last time we did this it was memorable,as my neighbours will confirm when one of our flock was lost and walked into his house .......plastered. Others have unfinished business, even Andy Couch has not managed to clinch this one yet even though he has tried a couple old times😂.
Get it in your diaries now and rally your buddies to come along.

Ivan & I sailed in Wimbleball's Phantom Open earlier this year and it was really well run on a fantastic bit of water - much, much easier to get to than the map suggested as well

it was my 55th that day and I fell into bad company that evening and was 'unable' to do the Beastie next day..!

I do hate all these young people posting on here 55 mere whipper snapper!

I will work on it. Maybe I will do this as my early season training, (well the curry and drinking part anyway) in prep for a great nationals at Highcliffe sc. Is anybody working on getting Simon Mussell to borrow a Phantom for the event?
Cheers

Now I think Ian does have a Saga. But I am sure he would be made very welcome by us all.

Don't worry Ian we will give you an overnight mooring. I think you count as an honorary Phantom sailor until you get your next one!
