Southern Opens 2012-Brixham ?
« on: November 14, 2011, 06:15:51 PM »

Dear Southerners I have been contacted By Brixham with them interested in holding an Open in conjuntion possibly with another fleet at some time.
I am mindful that John sadly got no support at Plymouth this year and would seek your opinions as to what you want.
I also think we have quite a full and varied calendar as it is.
What do you want out of your next years series?
Simon.

Brixham

Great venue, book it for a long (bank holiday) weekend i.e. end of may, might even make a week of it with the family.

I would travel from the North to sail at Brixham, but then I do have family in the area. I've always wanted to sail there but never got the chance.

To be honest, with my family commitments (chaffuer to two teenage sons!) I find it very hard to get away for more than single day events and Brixham / Plymouth are just to far for a single day.   :'( :'(

Sounds good to me as long as its not too cold so I can camp nearby, very keen for sailing in brixham though and every now and then a weekend open meeting is great, especially if it's quite a distance as you can make a weekend of it and makes the journey more worthwhile!
