Souther Travellers 2011
« on: September 19, 2011, 12:38:51 PM »

Apologies as I am sure it is listed somewhere, but could we confirm which events count toward Southern travellers and how many are needed to qualify please?  Is Burghfield also counting as Southern Traveller?  if so is it Burghfield, Chew and Shoreham?

I believe that it is Jeremy, though hopefully Coastbuster will come along soon and confirm that. The Burghfield leg is being touted as a southern, midlands and eastern grudge fest, though we'll see how many turn up.

Yes all correct.

Ian could you please promote the shoreham and Chew Valley events on the main board before we start winding up the east and Midlands about being minority causes and unlikely to be able to field a decent team! :o

How many required to qualify for Southern travellers.  May help drum up support if a few think they could still qualify ....

Hi Jeremy
I intend to go to Burghfield and maybe Shoreham. Went to check the boat yesterday and should be fixed for this weekend, thanks to all at Ashdown Marine and craftinsure .com for the speedy response.
Regards
Gordon

Jeremy, Simon will make an official announcement later but I think that there are three more events with five already being sailed. I think that there will be 4 to count but Simon will confirm that

Hi Jeremy and all Southern series participants,

Plymouth Wil stand as one of the events sailed.  John laid it on as any other meeting and it was published for all to attend if they could.  This result should stand and John quite rightly should have a counting result from it.

That aside we then will have a total of 8 events.

No one has taken the series and it will be four to count so nearly everyone still has a chance of a good result.  All to play for over the last events.

The Ghoulie is an Open but can count for any area and will be counting in the Southern series.  However this has also been billed as inter area challenge due to location and the great racing and attendances we have had recently.

Look forward to seeing you all in the cming events and hope you will be chipping in to the thread re Burghfield due to start soon.

Cheers Simon.

thanks Simon ..  sounds good and agree with Plymouth.  So we have 2 to 3 events req to qualify with 3 accesible events left so very doable for all the Frensham boats so we will have to see what we can do.  there are several hoping to go to Burghfield.  I may also go to Broxbourne ....  but i guess this is a bit too far afield to be classed as Southern??  :-[

Gordon ..  good to hear your boat is getting better and hope to see you at Burghfield ...

Hi Simon,

How does Chew fit in? Is that a qualifying event?
