Plymouth Open. Port of Plymouth Regatta
« on: July 20, 2011, 09:12:30 PM »

Time to get those entries in for the last opportunity for open water racing before the Nationals at Lyme.  Don't be shy,  even you pond dippers will enjoy Plymouth Sound  :D Although in west Devon you won't need your passport so let's see you all on 6th and 7th August.   8)

Good luck Rita, hope you have a really good event and look forward to hearing the drinking related banter.
For everyone else just remember its a naval town, so watch out for the the Provost and no provoking the locals, especially those lurking on street corners!

As the lady in St Navarre port said, "Hello, your time has come!", or in French, "Allo, c'est l'heure !"   ;)

Evening John,

Would love to come along but my ship is in Portland having gelcoat put back on the topsides. There wasn't a lot left on there, and I'll finally be able to say goodbye to all that duck tape!

Have a good time though and I'll see you at Lyme
:)

Sadly no takers then for Plymouth.  10mph tomorrow and sunshine sailing outside the Breakwater, 15+ forecast for Sunday with sailing in Plymouth Sound ;D
Southwest Outpost managed 2 x 4th and a win in the evening warm up races :D so all to play for.  Usual suspects to ail against Merlin, Tasar and Int Canoe to name a few.
Enjoy your yottin for those staying away ::)

Sorry John -

'If you come to Weymouth...................I know I know!

All fairly hectic at the moment and Plymouth means I would not sleep at home tonight and I am fairly sick of Hotels currently so need my own bed!

I am going to Lyme shortly though as need to go sailing but been travelling too much recently.

Sorry John and have a good sail.......................

Todays update.   After a very slow windless drift out to the start a gentle sea breeze blew allowing the first of 4 races.  Through the day the breeze strengthend until finally blowing around F4/5.  Great courses with some superb surfing downwind your correspondent leads the table with a 2,3,2,2 scoreline.  Two bullets each for the Tasar and Merlin but a few also rans to increase the points. :)
All to play for tomorrow with more wind forecast and another 4 races. :D

John
Sorry to be missing such good sailing, but stuck in the middle of the North sea at work.

Planning to be at Lyme though, just trying to get a new tent on e-bay.

Final scores and it was the super steady Tasar taking the class win by 3 points from Int'l Canoe and yours truly tied on 11.    The canoe was 2nd by virtue of two race wins today. :(  More fantastic force four plus sailing today with sunshine and waves. ;D  See you all at Lyme. ;)
