Is DI Hawkes coming? If so better check my tyres!  ::)

Indeed I shall be "firing up the Phantom" and preparing to use other choice 80'S phrasiology amid the banter around the race course!

You Doris! ;D

Nick

Didn't you say you had picked up some business in Libya.
When are you going.
I'm sure there's good sailing there.

Those East coast monkeys  ;D are taking all the glory and making us look bad.

Has the time not come for an East vrs South open? We can meet somewhere in the middle?

Hi Ian
Did you find out if John Torrance is coming on Sunday morning to measure boats?
I would be interested in taking part in grp boat measuring training early.

nope he's not coming as suspected, it would be quite a trek for anyone from the east. If we want to get some training in for a boat measurer best to contact either John or preferably John Wayling first to make sure that everyone is happy

I totally agree with Cpt Slow, especially the bit about the club. I would also like to add my thanks to him for the gracious way that he put in that completely pointless tack at the leeward mark in race 3 and handed the win on a plate. Never seen such generousity, ever.. ;D

Thanks Nick,  I'll pass your comments on to the club.

The Phantom fleet made a great impression at Spinnaker - exciting, competitive and enthusiatic racing.  Just as importamnt, everyone was impressed with the friendly and considerate manner of the visitors.  We raced alonside the juniors for the first race.  They were a bit daunted by  big fast boats doing serious stuff, but it worked fine.  Everyone got on in the best spirit of our club and of the class.  You will be welcome back any time.

I'll do a full report but here are the headlines:  9 boats from 6 clubs.  F3 gusting 4, occasional sunshine.  Maxi was first, Cap'n slow 2nd and Coastbuster 3rd.   Briliant racing throughout the fleet.

Thanks to everyomne who came and enjoyed a great day.  Hopefully we can tempt a few more next year.

Phil

Thanks for organising the day Phil ....  thouroughly enjoyable day with Good wind ..  bit of Sunshine and good racing.  Can only echo the comments re Juniors who were great and a credit to the club.  Lots of freindly comments and courtesy as we went round the course at what must have appeared quite frightening speeds to them at times. :)  Oh and thanks to Exmoor ales for the beer which I enjoyed with my dinner when I got home.
Hope to see you all at the Frensham Frenzy on Sunday 13th March 2011 ...  2 pursuit races.  Or perhaps if we even get our own open next year. ......

Phil thanks very much,  great day ,agree with all the comments above,

Did more turns 4x 360 and three marks,  had more colisionsx2 tha the whole of the previous two years.
Great racing and really challenging.  Well done to everyone especially Ian.
Conclusion--maxi is but it does not slow him down ,captain slow is not but if re-incarnated he will come back as a lemming!
As for the rest of us it was surprisingly a real test of short course/leg racing.
Cheers Simon. ;D

LOL

Crashes for me only 2 my fault maybe 3 but nearly 7 or 8, 1 good one.

Just the one capsize nearly 4 or 5 to windward!

Only hit 2 marks so I must be improving  :)

I think we all did more circles than driving in Milton Keynes!

Made it fun though if not dangerous with lots of place changes.

Ian was heard squawking only the once, we believe to another bird looking for a mate  ;D

It was such good fun and close racing anyone thinking about coming to Chew please make the effort and you can see me sail like a lemming...........again!
