Does That mean you are coming to spinnaker then john? If not when when and where? Can't think I'm going to many other events near you before next year other than burghfield, in fact might not be going to any near you next year either. Inland or nationals might be the only option.

Hi John
i tried that route before the nationals for a sail and our nearest committee member at that time could not measure sails so i assume not boats. He was also at least 2.5 hours away.
Hence the request for training prior to the nationals.

Thanks for replies.  I will get it measured at some point ....  its just not easy in the South!   ;D

CS ...  1266 is definitely an Ovi ....  I believe the first one and is the boat that was shown at the 2007 dinghy Show by Jeff.  i.e. moulded non slip, Ovi serial number moulded into transom etc.  It is a slightly whiter white colour than the later Ovi's and did not have the moulded mainsheet stand  ...  but is for sure an Ovi.

cheers,

Jeremy (1266)

Hi Jeremy!

That's great! I thought I was probably wrong and its interesting when they started building so nice to know!  :)

I like the whiter boats!

Hopefully see you at Spinnaker!

The club will be pretty quiet in the morning so there will be plenty of space for measuring and training etc

I just wanted to check that there are no measururers going to the Spinnaker Open who would be willing to measure an OVI in the morning?   As I have another potential candidate with an OVI who I might be able to persuade to come if a measurement was on the cards.  ;)

Probably the same as every other direction Gordon, entertaining. There are trees all around and the island in the middle, its just a laugh. It won't be the same as the solent thats for sure, but its more about supporting the club and the class. It will be good sailing whatever, its a phantom event

I think they have a gorilla on the island, although that might be Longleat but theres an idea!

Anyway as Ian said it will be fun whatever and personally have not been on a pond for maybe 3 years! Just getting my excuses in early  :)

I have sailed Lasers at Spinnaker before and its a fun place to sail plus we can always stop for a picnic on the islands if the racing is not going well!

Ian likes shifty small pond sailing and you can hear him shout at me more because we will all be much closer. I have missed this.

Is DI Hawkes coming? If so better check my tyres!  ::)

Always ahead of your time Simon, well about a month anyway...see you there on the tenth, or is that deja vu?

Hi Ian
I am race officer Saturday at Lee so no Solent sailing for me this weekend.
Please expect lots of confused looks and sailing of in odd directions in the hope of a miracle shift from me, same as i used at Stone!

i assume the gorilla name is Neil and he will be trying to sell us red shirts.

See you Sunday for a day of laughs.
