As the geographical spread of the Southern region is rather large, it has been suggested that we try to put together a separate series of events based more towards the eastern side of the region. Some of the possible events so far are:
12/13th April - Shoreham
17th May - Downs
13/14th June - Felpham
3rd October - Broadwater
Whilst not all of these are dedicated Phantom events, if enough boats turn up we may get our own start. Otherwise we can simply extract the Phantom results from the handicap fleets.
This has so far been discussed amongst a few south east based Phantom sailors. We know that Rich Cumberbatch (Southern Region Rep) is happy with the suggestion, but if other members of the Class Association committee read this post we would be grateful to receive the official approval before we go much further.
I would welcome any further comments on this post, together with suggestions for venues in July & August.
